Wildlight was founded in Sydney 23 years ago, it is Australia's
longest running independent photo agency and is truly a legend in the
business. Wildlight occupies a special niche by offering 100%
Australian content and promotes the work of a stable of over 50
photographers around the country. |

The heritage of its initial
founders, great names like Philip Quirk, Rennie Ellis, David Moore,
Gavin Blue, Penny Tweedie, Lorrie Graham, Bill Bachman and Richard
Woldendorp, carries on in Wildlight's sensitivity to photography as
an iconic art form. Wildlight's stock library features thousands of rights-managed and royalty free images. Now
with 25,000 images online, 150,000 images offline and new material
pouring in daily, the collection is accessible by browsing by subject or fast boolean keyword search. Once a client is registered,
images can be purchased by secure credit card transaction, or on
30-day account and downloaded directly in a number of sizes. |

Some of the milestones achieved by the agency:
Founded in 1985 as a collective of photographers in the European
photo agency tradition. Founding members include; Philip Quirk,
Grenville Turner, Oliver Strew and Carolyn Johns.
Based in Bondi Beach the photographers shoot assignments across
Australia for international and domestic publications and corporations.
Images shot on assignment are used to create the stock library, this quickly grows and become a significant revenue earner for the company.
1990, the agency is featured in the French magazine, Photo, as being the "greatest photo agency in Australia", and signalling a change in the business
culture by exporting Aussie pictures to the world.
The agency moves to larger premises in The Rocks, and establishes a photographic gallery.
Wildlight: Images of Australia is published and sells out. It is reprinted and sells out again.
In conjunction with Hardie Grant Publishers, two more retail books are created, Sydney and Across the Top.
2003, Wildlight is purchased by Exikon Pty Ltd.
2004, The image library is available online as a searchable database, with instant download and credit card gateway.
2005, Australian Creative magazine describes Wildlight as Local Legends .
2008, 23 years in business.
